The Powers Family:)

My co-worker's daughter Staci has two fine young sons Zac and Bradley and one adorable 22 month old daughter Annalee. When she called and excitedly told me she had horses and dogs we could include in the pics, my first thought was,.."Lord Help!!" You may not know it, but I'm a little timid around animals. Plants and I are much more compatible. So with the familiar song, "Horsey Keep Your Tail Up", playing in the back of my mind... I was determined to believe that I could handle God's creatures. Sure enough, I was pleased to see midget horses. Yes Sir, Staci and her family didn't have full grown bucking stallions. She owned the cutest, shaggiest little miniature darlings you've ever seen in your life. Needless to say, I was overjoyed ! We spent the afternoon running Annalee down the railroad tracks, and watching her eat the wildflowers. She has the cutest little smile and happiest spirit. Just wait till you see the pictures, and you'll know what I'm talking about. I think they speak for themselves, and that's what God intends when he sends me to shoot his little angels..Thanks Rosa for naming your newest pony "Tess" who just happened to be born on my daughter's birthday this Wednesday. We will be visiting you soon!
..Enjoy your Easter Holiday Friends!

Little Miss Izzie

This week I had a fine time chasing a little blond curly headed fairy around the garden. This three year old was full of vibrant conversation. Yes, she even uses the word "conversation". I was impressed at Izzie's gift for talking. In simply a few sessions with toddlers, I have found that this is the most challenging age because you must be fast on your feet. Being limber in order to get around them on the grass and in the bushes in a fluid manuver with the camera is essential for an outdoor photographer.
Most importantly, I could tell her mother,Jessica, puts lots of time and energy into raising Izzie. It was encouraging to see this child mastering manners, which is still a work in progress for my two. The highlight of the day was when she stood at the edge of the garden, right beside the pasture, and actually called in the cows. Izzie was such an enchanting little girl, that the next time I take her to Aunt Lora Kay's Magical Garden we must include her in Tea.

Thank Heaven for Spring!!

Mercy, I am so glad the frigid winter we endured is over and warm weather lies ahead.  I look all the wild mustard, azaleas, forsythia, all the lovely flowers and think...I must take some pictures.  So I grab the girls. They fling on clothes that match. (Yes, even cousins plan matching clothes in the South.) I didn't even worry about their hair. They'll fling it about while they are running around anyway. "Girls, get in the wheat field and play!" I command. Notice I didn't say, "Girls smile while I take pictures." Then I would have heard relentless moaning and seen two mischevious tongues sticking out in every scene. I let them simply have at it. That worked and these are the snaps from that quick 45 minutes on a Monday afternoon after school.

If you are interested in pictures, while the flowers are in bloom let me know. I know quite a few wonderful people with amazing yards this time of year.
