So, I have been taking some time off of my hobby because of busy schedules and family time, but a while back my heart told me I just had to help out this sweet couple. I've known this young farmer, Grayson since I was his substitute teacher in elementary school, and Jennifer is a fellow teacher like myself. It was a joy to work with these folks as we share the same family and friends. I've known both of their mothers for years, and they were such a help on this shoot. They took me to back alleys so we could capture the bricked buildings owned by Grayson's grandfather. Then we journeyed to backroads and fields on family farms. I had so much fun with this farm couple. Thankfully, the predictable rain skirted around us. It was faithfully prayed off by the local church ladies on the previous Wednesday night. All the while, I reminisced about working in the tobacco fields as a young girl. Oh my dear friends, there is nothing like the sweet, smokey scent of curing tobacco on a August day.
